  7. MegaBasic is a high-performance BASIC interpreter for serious programming and
  8. development of large, fast, and maintainable software systems.  It supports up
  9. to 8 megabytes of memory for application code and data.  Data types include
  10. 32-bit integers, 64K strings, BCD and IEEE binary floating point and arrays of
  11. each up to 8MB in size.  Extensive mathematical support includes all common
  12. transcendental function and their inverses polynomial evaluation, and a large
  13. general set of vector and matrix operations.  MegaBasic string operations are
  14. more comprehensive than in any other programming language and provide full
  15. access to sub-strings, bytes and their bit-strings.  Multiuser capabilities
  16. include file/record locking, shared memory and semaphores.  Integer operations
  17. include all those found in "C" plus a few more.  Pointers are supported and
  18. function as they do in "C" or PASCAL.  Large applications are built from
  19. dynamically linked modules at runtime.  The interactive development
  20. environment has built-in debugging and many other diagnostic features.
